Today, education reforms are progressively driven by a growing understanding of how to go about successfully improving education and providing resources. Strategic interventions are, therefore, essential to support policy reforms, effective planning and implementation of programs, coordination with stakeholders, knowledge management, research and innovation, training and capacity building, as well as reaching out directly to disadvantaged sections of society. ISHAD contributes to education and skills development through new, diversified approaches on the topic of local self-governance and strengthening grassroots democracy.

We work with multilateral and bilateral organizations, government officials, and local partners to strengthen and build the capacity to empower communities for lasting social and economic change at the local level. We provide information in the areas of program research and evaluation, and policy interventions.  We integrate gender equity and women’s empowerment programming. Through this column, students will gain knowledge in the field of governance and also gain insights into what is happening. Students along with skills development, it is a key enablers of inclusion.
